Hi Nicollas,

To use the Y-90 ion source in GATE<https://opengate.readthedocs.io/en/latest/source_and_particle_management.html?highlight=ion#defining-the-type-of-source>, include the lines below in your macro file. Geant4 radioactive decay uses branching ratio and decay scheme data based on the Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File<https://www.nndc.bnl.gov/ensdf/>. The Table of Radionuclides<http://www.nucleide.org/DDEP_WG/Nuclides/Y-90_tables.pdf> also has clear information.
/gate/source/NAME/gps/particle ion
/gate/source/NAME/gps/ion 39 90 0 0
/gate/source/NAME/setForcedUnstableFlag true
/gate/source/NAME/useDefaultHalfLife

The fastY90 source would be appropriate for generating quantitative imaging data, i.e. an activity distribution, for convolution dosimetry with a dose kernel. However, it would not be appropriate for use with the DoseActor.

Regards,
Matthew

I am a PhD student working with Targeted Radionuclide Therapy and I am interested in radioembolization dosimetry with 90Y. I would like to know if someone has the 90Y spectrum energy emission to share or some guidance on how to start the source. Is the Fast90 tool appropriate for 90Y therapy dosimetry?
