[Gate-users] defining an H- source

Hi Loic,

Thanks very much for your response.

I just want to clarify that it's not anti-protons I want to simulate, but rather negative Hydrogen ions (ie: Hydrogen with an extra electron).

In case someone else has another suggestion... H- is quite common as species in injectors.

Cheers and thanks,
Dave.

Hi David,

I never tried to simulate anti-protons ... I would advise to focus on Geant4 GPS documentation to find out a solution and otherwise contact directly Geant4 people.

If it does not work with GPS, I do not think it will work with PencilBeam source.

Please keep us informed about the solutions.

Sincerely,

Lo?c

Subject: [Gate-users] defining an H- source

Hi Gate users,

Can someone tell me which is the best way to generate a source of H-, 100 MeV.

I am trying:

                /gate/source/addSource PBS-source gps

                /gate/source/PBS-source/gps/particle ion

                /gate/source/PBS-source/gps/ion 1 1 -1 0

But I see that the particle is blue (positive)... and I ran now another sim with

                /gate/source/addSource PBS-source gps

                /gate/source/PBS-source/gps/particle ion

                /gate/source/PBS-source/gps/ion 1 1 1 0

And I get exactly the same output. Reading further, perhaps this is when you have a stationary source? Like Oxygen-15?

Now I have tried :

                /gate/source/addSource PBS PencilBeam

                /gate/source/PBS/setParticleType GenericIon

                /gate/source/PBS/setIonProperties 1 1 -1 0

And I get an error:

*** COMMAND NOT FOUND </gate/source/PBS/setIonProperties 1 1 -1 0> *** [Gate] Sorry, error in a macro command : abort.

Can someone help ?

Cheers and thanks,
