[Gate-users] Simulation time for CT

Dear Gate users,
I'm trying to simulate a CT system using vGATE. I'm using the sample code
found in examples/examples_CT/classic folder to do the same.
For me, the simulation time is a concern. I have reduced the acquisition
time from 90 seconds per projection to 9 seconds. The image quality has
degraded considerably with this switch. The simulation now takes about two
minutes per projection compared to half an hour previously.
I'm simultaneously monitoring my system usage during the run. Even though
I've alloted 24 GB memory for the virtual system, the system usage never
goes beyond 3 GB.
Are there any tips to get a better simulation time and better image
quality? Also, what do these numbers mean?
User Simulation time (sec) := 194.31 sec
Real Simulation time (sec) := 209.93 sec
System Simulation time (sec) := 2.88 sec
Thank you,
Chaitanya.
