[Gate-users] Visualization of the Geometry

Dear GATE experts,
I am a novice GATE user. I have installed GATE and was starting the Tutorial given. I am using OpenGL for graphics. My Gate version is 6.0, Geant version is 4.9.2. I have put the following command in the prompt:
/vis/open OGLSX
/vis/viewer/reset
/vis/viewer/viewpointThetaPhi 60 60
/vis/viewer/zoom 1
/vis/viewer/set/style surface
/vis/drawVolume
/tracking/storeTrajectory 1
/vis/scene/endOfEventAction accumulate
/vis/viewer/update
# W O R L D 
/gate/world/geometry/setXLength 40. cm 
/gate/world/geometry/setYLength 40. cm 
/gate/world/geometry/setZLength 40. cm 
#  S Y S T E M
/gate/world/daughters/name cylindricalPET
/gate/world/daughters/insert cylinder
/gate/cylindricalPET/setMaterial Water
/gate/cylindricalPET/geometry/setRmax 100 mm

After this I could see only the World volume. I could see the geometry only after I have put the following:
/gate/run/initialize
Do I have to do it everytime I want to visualize the geometry, Kindly explain
