[Gate-users] OPEN POSITION AT THE NUCLEAR MEDICINE DEPARTMENT OF THE TU MÜNCHEN

There is an open position at the Nuclear Medicine department of the TU 
Muenchen, here I send you the details:

The Nuclear Medicine Department of the Klinikum rechts der Isar at 
Technische Universität Munich has currently an open research position in 
the area of MR/PET for one year with possibility of extension. The 
position will become available starting March 1^st .

The research group of the nuclear medicine department of TUM is active 
in all aspects of PET and multimodality imaging, from basic detector 
module and electronics designs through optimization of imaging protocols 
to data analysis, image display and biomedical usage. The facilities 
dedicated to medical imaging research include multiple workstations, a 
computer cluster, a PET scanner, a PET/CT, and a dedicated small animal 
scanner. The successful candidate will become part of a research program 
centred on a novel MR-PET scanner design by means of Monte Carlo 
techniques. The MC platform is the Geant4 Application for Tomographic 
Emission (GATE). The project will be part of an existing collaboration 
with Siemens Medical Solutions.

Candidates must have a university or doctoral degree in medical physics, 
physics, applied mathematics, engineering, or computer science. 
Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: 
tomographic imaging and reconstruction, modelling radiation transport or 
image processing, programming, Unix, photon detectors.
