[Gate-users] Dose Point Kernel - dependent on the scanner size?

Dear Gate Users,

I am working on calculating the dose point kernel for Y90 (ion source
definition) and want to calculate it with fine resolution. I have used
spheres with different diameters to approach closer to 0.
There is a water cube of a different diameter (with attached dose actor)
inside a water world in the geometry. So physically it is the same water
cube with a point source inside regardless of the size of the cube
where the dose actor is attached and the dose distribution should be the
same.

What I found out is that DPK shows different curves depending on the size
of the cube where I attach the dose actor:
[image: image.png]
- there are 4 different diameters for a central sphere where DPK is
calculated and two resolutions for the same diameter size to check if my
results are consistent for different resolutions inside the same system.

Has anyone encountered this problem or I missed something obvious please
let me know.

Thank you.
