Dear all,
the new GATE release 9.1 is out !
You will find it with the following links:
- ready to be cloned : https://github.com/OpenGATE/Gate/tree/v9.1
- or as a zip https://github.com/OpenGATE/Gate/archive/v9.1.zip
- or as a Docker image: soon
- or as a virtual machine: soon
This release contains some new features, but is mostly a "consolidation"
release. You will find the detailed log here
<https://github.com/OpenGATE/Gate/blob/develop/release_notes/v9.1.txt>.
This release is working with *Geant4 10.7*. We recommend all users to
upgrade.
One of the most important new features is the GateBenchmarks
<https://github.com/OpenGATE/GateBenchmarks> system. In this new repository
you can find (and run) Gate macros to test some features against reference
data or against previous versions to check if everything works fine.
I would like to warmly thank all contributors
<https://github.com/OpenGATE/Gate/blob/develop/AUTHORS> (drop me an email
in case of a mistake or I forget someone). Gate is a volunteer-based
collaborative effort and we are really grateful to all of you!
The Gate development still continues. As always, please report us any issue
or idea and do not hesitate to propose some new development (just keep in
mind that it is always better to ask before proposing because other groups
may have already started something similar).
Oh, one more thing (sic): we have big plans for the future of Gate! It is
still under discussion, but we will communicate in the following months
about this new project. I can't really tell anything yet, except that ...
you should learn Python ;)
Take care!
for the collaboration,
David
