[Gate-users] Changing energy resolution after the simulation

Dear experts,

I'm trying to speed up my simulations, and I would like to ask you whether what I'm proposing has some methodological errors which I'm not recognizing.
I'm simulating a (very standard) cylindrical PET with crystal detectors. I need to study what happens when the energy resolution of the detectors improve.

Would it be wrong to set the in the digitizer blurring/setResolution 0.00001, a very low lower energy window, run the simulation... and afterwards when processing the coincidences, apply a random gaussian blur on the energy of each of the two photons (and then apply the higher threshold I wish)?
