Dear GATE users,

I'm pleased to announce the release of v1.1 of OMEGA - Open-source MATLAB Emission Tomography Software. For those unfamiliar with the software, OMEGA is an image reconstruction toolbox for Matlab and GNU Octave aimed at easy reconstruction of PET data, including simulated GATE data. You can obtain the source code from GitHub: https://github.com/villekf/OMEGA
For Matlab users, an easy-to-install toolbox file is available from releases: https://github.com/villekf/OMEGA/releases

GATE related new features include:

  * (Preliminary) support for TOF data, also without the need to add temporal blurring
  * You can now extract the coordinates where the photon has been absorbed by the detector
  *   Submodules are now supported
  * You can now extract scattered events that have scattered at least N times, e.g. Compton scattered events in the phantom that have scattered twice or more

Other features added are, for example

  *   PSF support
  * Volume of intersection ray tracer
  * Huber and non-local total variation priors
  * Special Matlab/Octave class that allows easy computation of A*x and A^T*y matrix-vector operations
  * Support for Siemens Biograph mCT and Vision list-mode data (closed source)
  * And other additions, in addition to many bug fixes and improvements

For a full list of changes, see the release notes:

Regards,
Ville-Veikko Wettenhovi
