[Gate-users] Gate Installing and qt Problem

Dear Gate Users,

I have first installed GATE version 8.2 (February 2019) with MacPorts.

After typing "Gate", I have got this information shown:

"[G4] Available UI session types: [ Qt, GAG, tcsh, csh ]
qt.qpa.fonts: Populating font family aliases took 337 ms. Replace uses of missing font family "Garamond" with one that exists to avoid this cost. "

I thought I could fix it by redoing the following steps:

  * Building and Installing G4 and Gate v9 from source
  * Downloading the Pre-Compiled Libraries for Gate v9

But the new Version did not exchange the old one and I get one more warning relating to the Libraries, when starting Gate:

*** Break *** segmentation violation
[/usr/lib/system/libsystem_platform.dylib] _sigtramp (no debug info)
[<unknown binary>] (no debug info)

What does it mean?

Do I need to deinstall the old Gate Version or how can I resolve this problem?

Sorry that my description sounds kind of illogical, but I can't completely unterstand what I have done. I just assumed that a new version will recover the old one automatically, but don't know where the essential problem is.

Best regards,

Jiayi Lu
