Dear GATE-users,
I'm announcing the BETA release of a new PET reconstruction software for MATLAB called OMEGA (Open-source MATLAB Emission Tomography Software).
Some of the highlights of this software, and what might be especially interesting to GATE-users, is the ability to use GATE ASCII, LMF or Root output data for image reconstruction. The software supports both sinogram reconstruction and raw list-mode reconstruction. Import of the data (ASCII, LMF or Root) is done automatically. This software also includes parallel reconstruction algorithms for MLEM and OSEM using OpenCL (CPU or GPU). The software also supports the reconstruction of any PET data. For a more comprehensive list of features, see the GitHub page: https://github.com/villekf/OMEGA
Since this is the initial BETA release (and there are a lot of different PET devices out there), it might not work with your device. A GATE example with macros is also included with the software that should give you an idea on how to use GATE data.
I'll also be giving a talk about the software in the GATE user's meeting in NSSMIC, if you have any questions regarding the software.
Regards,
Ville-Veikko Wettenhovi
