[Gate-users] Display results (GATE SPECT simulation and the image reconstruction using STIR)

You can reconstruct the GATE SPECT simulation data (projection output) using an open-source STIR(Software for Tomographic Image Reconstruction).
 
Attached is the SPECT simulation and reconstruction results with GATE and STIR.
 
The reconstruction process is summarized in the attached PDF file (slide#5).
 
After obtain the projection data (*.hdr, *.sin) from GATE simulation, the projection data (*.sin) could be reconstructed.
 
You should modify the reconstruction parameter files (*.par, *.hs) in accordance with your projection data format(matrix size, #of projection, and so on).
 
Hopefully, your SPECT reconstruction would be succeed.
 
The detailed reconstruction method will be presented in the STIR user meeting during 2018 IEEE NSS/MIC in Sydney. (Nov-15-2018)

Good afternoon
 
New to GATE and want to simulate SPECT. Using vGATE.
 
I ran through the SPECT in the user contribution file. The simulation run and I can open the root file.
 
My question – if this is a SPECT scan, can the simulation results be constructed such that a cylinder is visualized, much like after a cylinder is scanned using a real gamma camera?
