Hi Ali,
(Please keep the discussion on the mailing list, others might have similar problems. Or they might be able to offer help.)
Just to be sure: could you check that the “setMaterialDatabase” command is *before* any “setMaterial” command in your mac file?
Good luck!
David

Dear David
Thank you for your attention and your answers. I solved my problem. But there is a problem for me. when the main.mac is running, there is an error like below:
[GateMaterialDatabase: could not find the definition for material 'Air' in material files]
I checked the definition of Air in my materials 'db' file. but there was no problem!
In the main. mac, I defined the:
/gate/world/setMaterial Air
and then, I defined Air in my materials 'db' file. there is the same spell. but I don't know!
I tested stuff, change the 'Air' in the /gate/world/setMaterial Air to /gate/world/setMaterial Teeth
Then I run it, but there is an error like previous error!!
I can't solve this error!

Hi Ali,
Two questions:
(1) Do you mean “materialAF.dat” (without s before AF) or “materialsAF.dat” (with an s before AF)?
(2) If you provide just filename without path, then the file should be in the same directory as where you run Gate. Usually we make a dedicated workspace directory for a simulation, with “data”, “mac” and “output” directories, and we run (from the workspace directory) something like “Gate mac/main.mac”. Your database file would naturally be stored in the “data” directory. If that is how you did it, then in the mac file the database file should be called “data/materialsAF.dat” (with or without s), just “materialsAF.dat” would give an error similar to what you quote.
Maybe you can first try to answer these questions. If that does not resolve your issue then we can try other things.
Good luck!
David

Subject: [Gate-users] Material
Hi, all gate users
I have a question about the setMaterialDetabase.
I have written the main.mac and I have defined the setMaterialDetabase with ''.dat''. This file related to an phantom which reported by ICRP110. There are an error when running is performed.
Error:
Could not find material database file /home/gate/project/materialsAF.dat
why the gate can not find my ''materialAF.dat''??
Thanks
