[Gate-users] Gate multithread

Hi Barbara,

No, Gate 7.2 is *not* yet able to run in multithreaded mode. The geant4 
library that you use should also have been built *without* 
multithreading. The build system tries to detect if geant4 on your 
system is multithreaded and should throw an error if that is the case.

You *can* override that by setting a flag to actually allow 
multithreading, but that flag exists *only* to enable developers to try 
to change Gate in such a way that it *will* be thread-safe. Currently it 
isn't.

But we agree that multithreaded Gate would be wonderful, and you are 
very welcome to help Alex Vergara Gil (who is the main driver for this) 
to speed up the development. Here is his GitHub fork:
