[Gate-users] speed of CT image simulation

Dear all,

I want to simulate a CT imaging process, and the phantom is a 30cm diameter cylinder, and I found that I need to simulate a large number of photons in order to get enough statistics because the phantom stops most of the photons,  which needs an extremely long time, even with GateLab. Has anyone tried to simulate a real CT image and could you please let me know what have you done to increase the speed? The geometry of my CT gantry is special, so the existing CTscanner cannot be used, I use the normal ''Scanner''.
