yes indeed, the -lsocket option for linking ecat/utils is not necessary on
Linux. If you have -lnsl and -lrpcsvc, you can delete those as well.
Of course, you don't need ecat/utils for GATE I guess. So i don't know what
you mean when you say "I still have the linking problem".
