[Gate-users] How to read PET benchmark output

Hello,

I have been away from trying to learn GATE for a while and was trying to
run the PET benchmark before I continued with anything else. I am using
vGATE, and modified the benchPET.mac file to have the acquisition be 1
second long as per suggestion from someone months ago to shorten run time.

I then run the file using /control/execute benchPET.mac. Things seems to
happen for a while, and then when the simulation appears to be over, my
prompt just sits at Idle>. Then I exit GATE and look in the benchPET folder
for the output, but I see no new files. Can someone tell me what I should
be looking for as the output of this benchmark? There is a .root file, but
I am not familiar with ROOT at all. How do I look at the data to verify
that the benchmark has run properly?

Thank you,

-Amy M
