[Gate-users] 2.5 times higher PET Sensitivity

Hi Heesoon,

Which system are you simulating?  I know that for some systems there
are inefficiencies in the light guide between the scintillator
crystals/photodetectors that aren't accounted for unless you do
optical photon tracking (which takes an eternity to simulate for a
full PET scanner), but that alone shouldn't make a difference as large
as you're seeing.  There must be some characteristic of the digitizer
that is not being accounted for; try to find a characterization of the
detectors of the PET system, or if it is created in your lab then
perform a characterization of just the detector/acquisition hardware.
