Hi,

if you cut your simulation in different time steps (only one simulation, but
iterative "setFileName" "setTimeXXX" and "startDAQ" command), you can have a new
root file for each time steps, so less than 2Gb each.

In a second time you can post-process as many root file you want with a TChain
object.
You can even merge some interesting data from different root files in one single
new root file

best regards,

Samuel

Apparently everyone.

Objet : [Gate-users] Root file size limit

Dear all,

does anybody know how to limit the size of Root-output-files
created during simulation.
Instead of one file of size more than 2 GB I want to have 2 or
more files limited to less than or equal to 2 Gigabytes.

Thanks and kind regards

Georg Thomas
