Hi,

ROOT_v14 is fine and a lot faster than new ones. Just that with too recent
compilers (after gcc 4.1 if I remember) root_V14 will failed at compilation
due to new C++/C demands on coding strictness. If your are in that case,
take the v20.
Incompatibilities can come from already compiled ROOT packages that were
compiled for 32 bits system.
Just compile ROOT by yourself !
Everything runs well from clhep to gate on any 64 bits systems.

Cheers,
Simon
