Dear All,
The Detector Lab, ANSTO, is promoting a Post-Doc position for young,
motivated, enthusiastic researchers, to develop new technologies for
medical physics and national security. The position is open to
researchers with expertise in one or more of the following fields:
radiation transport simulations, imaging solutions, dosimetry,
microdosimetry, nanodosimetry, development of new radiation detectors.
The deadline for application submission is the 1st May 2009 (Sydney
time). For more information visit:

Postdoctoral Fellowship
Radiation Transport Simulations
2-year terms + possible 1 year extension
Salary range: A$66,451 (plus superannuation)
ANSTO is one of Australia's foremost scientific research and development
organisations, focused on delivering the benefits of nuclear science to
the Australian community.
We are seeking a fellow to work in the area of radiation transport
simulations using GEANT4 to study problems in microdosimetry and related
topics. Key applications are in medical physics, reactor radiation
damage and national security. The potential for commercialisation of
some technology areas is also under consideration.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong innovation focus, good
communication skills and a proven publication record, as well as
experience and skills specific to the proposed research project. PhDs
must have been awarded within the last three years or be under
examination.

Subject: [Gate-users] Energy blurring module of GATE
Hi All,
I have some problems with my digitizer module.
I am simulating SPECT system.
And I tried two diffrent energy blurring value 0.10 and 0.268
Then I checked my root results.
2.35*sigma/mean value is ok with 0.10 I am taking 10 but for 0.268
value it gives to me 32 not 26.8
# E N E R G Y B L U R R I N G
/gate/digitizer/Singles/insert blurring
/gate/digitizer/Singles/blurring/setResolution 0.10
/gate/digitizer/Singles/blurring/setEnergyOfReference 140. keV
With 0.10 I dont have any problem
# E N E R G Y B L U R R I N G
/gate/digitizer/Singles/insert blurring
/gate/digitizer/Singles/blurring/setResolution 0.268
/gate/digitizer/Singles/blurring/setEnergyOfReference 140. keV
But with 0.268 , I could not take 26.8 exaclt but 32.
What is the problem with it?
Thanks for any kind of help.
Sebnem
