I did not work with optical photons yet, so my explanation might be wrong
(but I think it isn't :) ).
LuYAP does not show up in the file Materials.xml (as opposed to LSO). That
is the reason for the warning.
Geant4 is (originally) designed for high energy physics. That is why
"normal" photons are not reflected by surfaces and there is no refraction.
Optical photons, however, can.
