[Gate-users] Couldnt run Gate command: v4.0.0 on Mac OS X 10.5.4

You're the man!  That took care of all of the error messages at least.  The benchmark is now running - I will let you know how it goes.  In the end I did not use your variable file, but used the instructions I got from ludovic Ferrer (see below).  Should this information be forwarded to the Gate "headquarters" to be included in the installation documentation?

reading your eMails, I remember that I had to modify two more files!
Sorry, I forgot. You find them attached to this eMail.
The ..hh file has to be copied to gatev4.0.0/source/include and
the ..cc file has to be placed into  gatev4.0.0/source/src and the
original files have to be removed from the respective folders.
I am not an expert to tell you exactly, what was wrong with the original
files; something quite formal, but obviously serious to cause the
problems.
Then, please, re-compile after cleaning the tmp and bin directories.

on MacBook and Mac Mini. But you could replace the variables.gmk in the Gatev4..-directory by the one you
find attached to this eMail and re-compile gate, after cleaning up the tmp and bin folder in the gate directory.
