[Gate-users] New geometry

Dear Gate users,
I would like to model in GATE a module of the so called ax-pet scanner.
In particular I need to set some offsets between my crystal matrix rows 
and columns.
I checked the possibility to outfox the problem by using some already 
existing commands, without success.
So I have to enter in the Gate source and modify it, to add the options I 
require.
Can someone provide me some hints about the best or smarter approach to 
follow in order to add these commands into the Gate classes?
I'm used to program in Geant4.
