[Gate-users] How to extract information from the ROOT output?

Dear GATE users,

We are working towards simulating acquisitions for a micropet Focus
scanner. At the moment I am using the ASCII output (columns for time
stamp and volume id for both singles from one coincidence event) to
create micropet sinograms with an IDL code that I have written.

Since it is supposed to speed up the simulation, can someone tell me how
I can extract the same information from the root output (the variables
time stamp, volume IDs for both singles as a list for all coincidence
events in the simulation)!? Or has someone written code to create
micropet sinograms from root output already?

Thank you!

Wencke
