Hi,
The variable G4VERSION is just the number of the Geant4 version you 've
installed.
So if you have :
--> Geant4.8.0 --> export or setenv G4VERSION=8.0
--> Geant4.8.1 or Geant4.8.2 --> export or setenv G4VERSION=8.1
You also have to fix the GATEHOME variable at the path of your Gate sources
directory, if you did not before.
I personnaly recommend you to install Geant4.8.1.p02 and Gate3.1.1.
I hope for you that your CLHEP version if 1.9.2.3 or 2.0.2.2 or
2.0.2.3(choose this of your choice), others will give you wrong
results.
Then I think you must install ROOT (developed by the CERN) to get your
results, it's the most popular output format used with Gate. Except if you
want to use the ascii format that will give you very large files ... There
are also other output format like LMF or ECAT7. You must install those
programs BEFORE you install Gate.
Hope you'll succeed, and don't hesitate to ask more questions :-)
