Dear All, in particular cygwin users,

if you are interested, you can run Gate from a CD on any windows
platform by saving to your CD the following:

1- Gate.exe
2- cygwin1.dll (it resides in /usr/bin)
3- root/bin/*.dll
4- the data files: G4EMLOW, 4PhotonEvap, G4RadiativeDecay, G4NDL

as well as a script file, for ex. script.bat, in which you set the
following variables, and execute Gate.exe:

set G4LEVELGAMMADATA =D:\G4PhotonEvap.1.0
set G4RADIOACTIVEDATA=D:\G4RadiativeDecay.2.0
set G4LEDATA=D:\G4EMLOW1.1
set NeutronHPCrossSections=D:\G4NDL3.5

Gate.exe

To run Gate, you can just double click on the scipt.bat icon. You need
to make sure you set the path for your output files to the proper drive.

The total size is 247 MB.

Hope this is useful.

Regards,
