Hi GATE Users,

I am performing a simulation of pinhole SPECT using various pinholes (size,
number) and voxelised source.
Although the simulation was performed as I expected, I have a problem. The
simulation time takes too long, because pinhole system has poor sensitivity
and voxelised phantom contains high activity. Voxelised phantom consists of
a cylindrical body of low activity containing 1 smaller hot-spot. The outer
dimensions and height of the phantom is 30 ¡¿ 30 mm and 10 mm respectively.

For example, 2 pinholes system takes about 4 days to obtain 113,332 counts
where voxelised source activity was 37 MBq and setTime was 10 s. Therefore,
in order to collect realistic count, it takes more than a week. PC
configuration was Intel Xeon 2.6GHz, 2G for ram.

In order to reduce the simulation time, I constrained the radiation angle,
both theta and phi in GPS section and also I set the physic processes
Standard.

Is there any additional option to further reduce the simulation time?
Please check the macro file.

Sincerely,

BJ Min
