[Gate-users] Fluence Actor?

Hello David,
Thank you for your reply. I have done a bit more testing and am no closer to understanding what’s going on!
I am getting very different results between defining geometry as Boxes vs STL meshes.
And I constantly get the following warning when Fluence Actor is enabled, even if there is only one sensitive detector.

*** G4Exception : DET1010 issued by : G4SDStructure::AddNewDetector()
crystal had already been stored in /gate/. Object pointer is overwritten.
It's users' responsibility to delete the old sensitive detector object.
*** This is just a warning message. ***

What I’m trying to do is evaluate detector sensitivity by comparing the number of primary emissions entering a crystal to the number of singles I record. I think I may be able to get the info I need from the Phase Space Actor, so I’ll try that.

Thanks for your help anyway!
Josh

Hi Josh,

unsure, did you attach the actor to all volumes (if many) or one single volume that is the mother of all others ?

Hello all,

I am trying to use a Fluence Actor but running into a problem. To make sure that my macro is working, I made a very simple case of 5 box shaped water volumes each 1mm thick in a stack. I placed a 511 keV gamma point source 100 mm away from the stack and set the world material to vacuum.

The problem is that only the nearest water volume is recording fluence data. I get output files for each of the other ones, but they are all recording zero. I expect each slice of water to record a number of gammas entering it.

Is there any special trick to using the Fluence Actor?

Thank you,
Josh
