Dear Zhang,

GATE-RTion is a frozen version of GATE/Geant4.
The intention is that clinical users use GATE-RTion to share and consolidate validation results.
We are using it at MedAustron for carbon ion independent dose calculation!
Next release is planned for 2023.

Example of applications:

· AUTOMC: https://www.birpublications.org/doi/10.1259/bjr.20200228

· 3D stopping powers: https://aapm.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/mp.14726

Best,
Loïc

Subject: [Gate-users] GATE-RTion

Dear GATE user,

I'm confused about the difference between the GATE and GATE-RTion for verification of the treatment planning using TPSpencilbeam source. What is the advantage of the GATE-RTion in comparison to GATE? Can GATE-RTion V1.0 be used for carbon-ion therapy?

Best wishes,
