Dear all,

Last week, we had the second virtual Gate scientific meeting. I would like
to warmly thank all speakers and all participants. About 180 persons were
registered from all over the world. It was really great, I am sincerely
again delighted by how large, innovative and active the community is. Thank
you all!

You will find most of the video records and slides pdf on the indico page:
https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/24079. Please be patient, not all materials
have been uploaded but will be in the next few days.

The next Gate scientific meeting will be organized in November 2021,
probably remotely. The tentative date is 18/11/2021 (to be confirmed). A
face to face meeting will be organised in spring/early summer 2022.

The GATE project will evolve in the following month/years, we will keep you
informed. If you are interested in participating in the development, do not
hesitate to contact us.

And, to conclude, a small gift ... I always recall that Gate is a
collaborative, voluntary-based open-source effort, and in order to
illustrate this, here is a short 2 min video showing all contributions to
the source code: https://youtu.be/XE6CB2Eh0IM
Coloured points are files, people's name appear the first time they commit.
The timeline starts in 2012 because early history (2004-2012) has been
lost. It was made with https://gource.io.

have fun and take care,
David

Dear all,

Our next *Gate scientific meeting* will be organized this year again
remotely on the *20th of May from 8:30 to 17:00 CET*. It is a great
opportunity to casually exchange and discuss scientific and technical
questions related to Gate simulations in medical physics. The meeting will
be remotely managed via videoconferencing, free and open to everyone.

We plan about 15 presentations within time slots of 20 min (10-15 min talk
+ 5-10 questions). In order to prepare the program, presenters and
attendees *have to register* with this link :
https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/24079

Once the program will be set, we will ask all presenters to record their
talk in a video (for example with the audio recorder capability of Zoom, or
in PowerPoint or any other means), discussion will be live. More details on
that will be given later.

Please, register early as it helps us for the organization!

Sincerely,
David
