Hi,
I want to make a cylindrical PET which, instead of the traditional scintillation crystals (BGO, LSO) it has a liquid noble gas as a scintillation material. From the manual, when you want to place a sensitive detector to the scintillation material (system: layer), the material's geometry must be a box, but in my case is a cylinder. Can this be overcome?
In short, I have a stainless-steel cylindrical cell that is filled with liquid (my scintillation medium, green colour in the image attached), and I want to attach a sensitive detector to it and repeat the volumes in a ring format, is that possible in a cylindricalPET system?
Best
Theo
