[Gate-users] Radiotherapy applications: Calibrating MC simulations: i.e. absolute dose to monitor Units factor

 Monitor units are a hardware parameter specific to the radiotherapy machine. So you need measured data for the machine you want to simulate. I would check what measurements are/were for commissioning the machine and possibly for quality assurance and mimic that in the Gate simulation. Typically this will be some sort of dose measurement. The ratio of measured and simulated dose tells you how to scale the number of primaries to match the MU. Check for papers on Monte Carlo simulations of radiotherapy system. You should find more details. The specific approach on your facility and their procedures.
