[Gate-users] CT number of primaries help

Hi,

Im running a fan beam CT simulation using a voxelised human abdominal phantom but the images produced do not show up much detail of organs compared to reference CT images even when using a variety of different sources (80kVp,100kVp and 120kVp). I was wondering if anybody could suggest a method for finding the optimal number of primaries? Im currently simulating 180 projection angles with 100,000,000 primaries per run. I’m new to GATE as I’m using it for my uni project so Ive not yet had much experience with dose calculations etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
