[Gate-users] R: Centos 8 compilation issues

Hello Presotto,

I am not sure what happened to your compilation error, but I met some
issues when I tried to install GATE on centOS 8 a few months ago. If CentOS
8 is not the most necessary system you need, I highly recommend you switch
to CentOS 7 as your operating system so you could avoid many issues. It
looks like there are still many bugs in CentOS 8 because it was just
released in late 2019 and it is not a very stable system yet. I do not know
whether you got another issue with the QT version, but I failed to install
GATE successfully on centOS 8 before with almost an entire week's effort.

Best,
Xinjie
