Hello Ollie Pickford,
One way to trigger this particular error is to insert this "addSource" command in your macro before the "/gate/run/initialize" command. You are supposed to add sources only *after* the initialization.
If your "addsource" is already after the initialization command then we need to come up with a new hypothesis. If you had inserted it indeed before, could you then please tell us whether it works better if you place it after?
Good luck,
David

Betreff: [Gate-users] "illegal application state -- command refused" error in Gate 8.1
Hello all,
I have recently upgraded our Gate setup from 7.2 to 8.1 and when I try to run scripts that worked in 7.2 on 8.1 to check consistency I get the error "illegal application state -- command refused". This comes immediately after the command: "/gate/source/addSource interpolationSpectrum gps". This command runs fine in 7.2 but fails for some reason in 8.1.
I have checked the updated user guide but this still appears to be the correct format. I have also run PET validation measurements and they agree well with what is published on the website (though the benchSPECT analysis file "benchSPECT.C" would not run due to an error with the pointer format used).
Any help with either of these problems would be greatly appreciated!
Kind regards,
Olie Pickford Scienti
