Hi!

First: why are you using GATE v6.2? We recommend using the latest release (8.1, and at the latest in March we hope to release 8.2). Partly because we are always fixing bugs and adding new features, so the newest release should be better for you. Partly because we have limited manpower, and we cannot keep track of all the old versions; we can help you much better if you use the latest release.

Second: to get inspiration on how to set up your analysis for radiotherapy I recommend you to have a look at the GateContrib project (https://github.com/OpenGATE/GateContrib). There are simple examples for conventional radiotherapy (with a linac) and for pencil beam scanning proton therapy. In these examples you will get dose distributions on a patient CT image or on a water phantom. The analysis of specific ROIs should be done after completion of the simulation, this has not been integrated into GATE.

I hope that this helps you a bit further on your project. :)

Hi all,

Please i have a critical question , Can i make a simulation for treatment plans by gate/Geant4 and how?? I want to transfer the treatment plan  by TPS  (Treatment Planning System)to the gate and define each organ and also the dose that had been used for the plan to compare between dose calculated by the gate and TPS but i do not know how i implement this  .
Please i need a reply and a a help necessary
