[Gate-users] Dose Uncertainty

Hello Meryem,
I am using text file dose actor output, and I convert the relative uncertainties to absolute by multiplying uncertainty by dose on a voxel basis. Then, you can add the absolute uncertainties to get total uncertainty.
I assume root files allow the same sort of operation, but I’m not sure.
Hope that help,
Josh

Subject: Re: [Gate-users] Dose Uncertainty
Hello,
In the same context, how can we get the relative statistical uncertainty from Dose Actor when the simulation is split into several jobs. I read that the
uncertainty in this case can be calculated retrospectively but I don't know how it applies. For information, I use Root as output. Do I have to merge the uncertainty of all the jobs?
Best Regards.
Meriem

All – good morning,
How can I interpret the dose-uncertainty output from Gate? I have Dose, Dose-Squared, and Dose-Uncertainty text files, but what units are the uncertainty number?
