[Gate-users] Missing scatter in sensitive detector?

Thanks. Just to send an update on this, the suggestion from Emlyn did the trick. I ran the old Physics code and disabled atomic deexcitation and this allowed me to be able to isolate those photons which had not undergone scatter.

Hi,

I have had problems with scatter recording not behaving properly when atomic deexcitation is enabled as a physics process.

Hello Alison Craig,

I would like to suggest having a look at the Benchmark
Gamma-Camera, especially the analysis file ".C" which
reads the ROOT-File and provides some statistics about
the different types of scatter. See also attached file, I found
on my system.

All the best and kind regards,

Hi all

I have a model of a SPECT system, I have run an acquisition with a Tc99m line source within a cylindrical phantom and am trying to isolate the scattered from the non-scattered photons from within the root file.

I have removed all Compton and Rayleigh scatter within the phantomSD and crystal and yet my spectrum is still showing some scattered photons:
<image001.jpg>

I have set my sensitive detectors as:

/gate/Phantom/attachPhantomSD
/gate/compartment/attachPhantomSD
/gate/shielding/attachPhantomSD
/gate/SPECThead/attachPhantomSD
/gate/collimator/attachPhantomSD
/gate/casing/attachPhantomSD

And my root output as:

/gate/output/root/enable
/gate/output/root/setFileName Test1
/gate/output/root/setRootSinglesAdderFlag 1
/gate/output/root/setRootSinglesBlurringFlag 1
/gate/output/root/setRootSinglesSpblurringFlag 1
/gate/output/root/setRootSinglesThresholderFlag 1
/gate/output/root/setRootSinglesUpholderFlag 1

Can anyone help? I am unsure if I am missing a sensitive detector definition somewhere?

Thanks

Allison
