If you want to use gps method, you should follow this guide

# the beam energy is in gaussian profile centered at 400 MeV
/gps/ene/type Gauss
/gps/ene/mono 400 MeV
/gps/ene/sigma 50. MeV

Subject: [Gate-users] cannot get gaussian energy distribution
Hi everyone
I am trying to make a simple proton beam where the energy distribution is Gaussian.
The mean energy should be 13 MeV and the standard deviation should be 1 MeV. When I run the code under, and shoot it directly into a senstive volume, all the recorded hits are 13 MeV. So i conclude that the beam is actually mono energetic.
Can anybody tell me what is wrong in my code?
