Hi all,
I am attempting to configure GATE V8.1 for simulations involving a single-head SPECT system. For these simulations, I would like to use the optical physics processes as well as the Davis LUT model. A paper on Advanced optical simulation of scintillation detectors in GATE V8.0 by Stockhoff et al. states that the LUT Davis model makes optical simulations for nuclear imaging detectors much more precise, hence my motivation for implementing this in my simulation.
From the GATE wiki (wiki.opengatecollaboration.org/index.php/Enabling_LUT_Davis_Model), I have found the page on enabling the LUT Davis model which provides links to the updated Geant4 classes as well as a tar.gz archive containing the LUTs. I have not looked too deeply into the changes that these classes implement, but they are specified for replacement in Geant4 10.2 or 10.3, not 10.4. Also, the wiki says that the modifications required to enable the LUTs are necessary before Geant4 release summer 2017. Does this mean that the releases of Geant4 following summer 2017 no longer require explicit configuration with the LUT model? Is there any specific reason why these implementations have not been addressed for Geant4 10.4 or are there immediate problems faced when implementing these class changes? Furthermore, I cannot locate the tar.gz file to download the LUTs since the link on the wiki is broken (Kitware page not found).
Any information on these matters is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Matthew
