[Gate-users] Benchmarking GATE on Ryzen hardware

Hi everyone,

I am looking to upgrade my workstation in the near future, and I am very
tempted by the Ryzen line of CPUs due to the fact that they provide an
affordable way to get a lot of processing threads. One thing I am concerned
about though is the single-thread performance compared to my existing
i5-3470 (3.6 GHz turbo speed). Before I make a decision on whether to grab
a Ryzen 1600 or a Coffee Lake i5-based system like the i5-8400, has anyone
run the benchmarkPET.mac file with GATE 8.0 on a Ryzen CPU? If so, how long
does it take to execute? What speed of DDR4 memory were you using?
