This year, there will be a GATE course during the IEEE MIC conference in Atlanta (http://www.nss-mic.org/2017/ShortCourses.asp) on Monday October 23rd. There will also be a GATE user meeting during that conference. 

In addition, you can find course material on http://www.opengatecollaboration.org/Materials2015.
