let me briefly give you some basic hints:

1) it is a good idea to check the GATE WEB-PAGE
(http://www.opengatecollaboration.org/home)

2) look under Documentation —> there you find under

(http://www.opengatecollaboration.org/InstallingGate)

the installation guide for the version you plan to install.
