But why did he have  to  publicize the  message in  the first place? Why not go straight  to the police and be  done  with  it?

My thoughts: He knew  that he'd get attention if he did it this way. Everyone would be like  "our hero!" and whatnot, for finding this awful thing.  And  everyone  would have  more fuel  to  use against Gamergate.

**Regardless of whether or not Gamergate  denounced it  or defended it,  it was always the intent to use the CP found  on 8chan against  them. No matter  what GGers would  have said, people would still say that GG supports CP.**
