Hello, Emmanuel,
1. In my experiece, The set time slice is time interval between
measuerments, set time start is starting time of entire measurements, and
the set time stop is end point of the measurenets.
If you set it as given in your qeustion
* /gate/application/setTimeSlice 1 s
* /gate/application/setTimeStart 0 s
* /gate/application/setTimeStop 1 s
the measurement starts at 0 second, and end after 1 second. Since time step
between measurement is 1 second, so it will produce 2 output (I'm not sure
the measurement including last time slot or not, if in doesn't include last
time stop an output will bi produced). According to the manual(or maybe
wiki) page, I is also related to temporal dependency of the measurements,
like mAs is CT. But I'm not sure it works as we usually think, because I
didn't tried to compare it.
2. I don't have experience in analyzing mhd format files. But I think the
raw format file created, since you turned on raw format output. If you
don't need raw format output, you can turn it off at output.mac. But before
you do that, check any difference in raw format file and mhd format files.
I'm usually dealing with CT or x-ray projection data and I'm more
comfortable with raw format file. Since I can read it in various
environments, including MATLAB. But to read mhd format files, I needed
external libraires in some environments.
3. If you provided energy spectrum to GATE, you could analyze the provided
energy spectrum. <- this would be the simplest
If you want to analyze measured energy spectrum, you can use root format
file given as result of simluation. It contains lots of information,
including energy spectrum, source posision, measurement position, etc. <-
this would be second simplest one
The most difficult option would be using measure energy spectrum using
spectroscopic detector.
