Hi Benjamin,

Your first point is well noted.

For the second part

>>>Your second problem is the phantom and your scanner should not be attached. Attach your phantom to the world and then you don't have to worry about counter rotating it. This was causing me problems as well.

Initially my phantom was attached to the world and the scanner was rotating around it. I attached my DoseActor to the phantom and it gave me empty results. I then attached the phantom with the DoseActor to the scanner and it gave me some results. Because the phantom was rotating also I applied negative rotation to it.

I will really appreciate it if you can help me solve my second problem? Thanks

Cheers,

Emmanuel

Hey Emmanuel,

It looks like your helical movement is fine, just your world is too small or you are extending too far. Based on how geometries are handled, your world extends from 40 cm to -40 cm in the z-direction. However, with a quick calculation, you are moving your phantom 0.9 mm/s for 720 s, which places it 64.8 cm in the z-direction, which is outside your world. Your second problem is the phantom and your scanner should not be attached. Attach your phantom to the world and then you don't have to worry about counter rotating it. This was causing me problems as well. I made these two changes, and your program runs fine.

Hi Gate-User,

I have been trying to incorporate helical movement into my simulation. I have a gantry that rotates around a phantom. The Phantom also has translational movement as the gantry rotates around it. During simulation the translational movement of the phantom causes it to go beyond the world volume bringing the run to a halt. I am finding it difficult to do this helical movement. I have attached a simple file so that any willing to help me could have a look at it. Please, I need your help. Thanks.
