several "large" features will be added in this release (optical, dicom
support etc), so it has been decided to go for 8.0. But this is more a

sure ! as it is mandatory for G4, we will probably make it mandatory for
Gate. Tests are ongoing for Gate with G4 10.3 (9/12/2016). If some have
experiences on that, fill free to contribute to the discussion here
<https://github.com/OpenGATE/Gate/issues/90>.

This is not planned. As already discussed, it requires a lot of effort and
for the moment, none is ready to spend time (money) on that topic. Again,
if someone is interested to do so, we will support and help, but in the
limit of skills and availability.

This is an important point. There are some discussions pending on this gpu
aspect, but no decision (remove ? continue ?) has been taken yet.
