[Gate-users] Problem building optical simulation

I am trying to build a very simple recreation of a scintillator, but I'm
running into some problems. I'm starting with optical photons from inside
the crystal so I don't have to worry about scintillating events, but I'm
unable to get any of the photons to actually leave the crystal... even out
of the ends. I've followed the instructions for optical systems pretty
closely, but I'm not making any headway. I've also tried to define
surfaces, but it's giving me a "command does not exist" feedback and aborts
the simulation. I also made sure that my GATE_USE_OPTICAL in on the the
ccmake and the cc file. I haven't restarted the computer since, so that may
be the problem. But if anyone out there thinks of anything that might help,
I would greatly appreciate it.

Many cheers,
