[Gate-users] INTRINSIC RADIATION-LUTETIUM

Hi Lorena,
Uwe is absolutely correct; that's the same technique that I used in my M.Sc
work to characterize LSO background radiation in PET scanners. The exact
code that I used in GATE 5.x is listed in my thesis (available from
https://mspace.lib.umanitoba.ca/handle/1993/4461) in the appendix. It
should still work in GATE 7.x, just make sure that the volume and activity
that you choose are appropriate for your scanner.
Keep in mind that this uses an ion source simulation, which can be very
slow. Multithreading this simulation will be a very good idea!
Good luck!
-Bryan
